Nui Harime - Kill La Kill (2014)

This dress was one of the first things I had sewn, it’s a simple strapless sweetheart neckline with a large scalloped bottom in a pink knit. It has a light pink underskirt that is also scalloped and a white skirt underthat with ruffles all throughout. The scissorblade was (I believe pine?) wood laser cut and sanded down. To make the wig, I started with a secure metal headband that was fit to my head. I then took 2 pieces of poster board cut out in the “lump” of the ponytail shape that I wanted and sprayed expanding foam onto them. I carved the shape of the top of the ponytail and those were then nailed onto the headband. To create the long drill curls, strips of wire were taped into long pieces and then curled around and taped onto the lumps (progress picture below). After the base was complete, it was time to just lay all the hair on and glue it all down.
