Miku Hatsune - punk atelier Hiro (2022)

This costume was a huge learning process. I had worked with vinyl and “sticky” fabrics before, but the pleather for this was beyond anything I had ever used. Not even a teflon foot was enough! I was re-applying tape to my my machine and machine foot every few hours. On top of just being an insanely difficult fabric to work with, the costume proved to be more challenging than I initially thought as well. I had to create an entire bra/support system for the top, and the criss-crossing of the lines throughout the arms and stomach area were an absolute maze to navigate. This costume also required a bunch of hardware and belts to be made, which wasn’t too new for me, but did take up plenty of time. The guitar was made in about 1 day with XPS foam just barely in time for the convention.
